Tahoe Hybrid a Hit at the Rideshare Fair!

Today we had an awesome time at the Rideshare Fair by the County of Los Angeles. We were invited to join this fair by the Administrative Support Bureau's Chief, Joseph Simoneschi. (Thanks Joseph for the invite!) We both agreed that since the theme of the Rideshare Fair was to increase awareness of other forms of transportation such as the Metrolink, MTA buses, Vanpools, Hybrid vehicles, etc. that our new 2008 Tahoe Hybrid would be a wonderful addition to the various departments that were represented here.

Many people were surprised that there was such a thing as a Tahoe Hybrid and were blown away by the features of our vehicle such as the luxurious interior and amenities (Leather, Sunroof, DVD player, Navigation, etc.)! However at the same time, since the Tahoe Hybrid does not achieve the same MPG savings as a Toyota Prius (for example), there were some doubters as well. Here are the advantages I mentioned for those who had doubts:

• The Tahoe Hybrid has the same city MPG as a 4 Cylinder Toyota Camry even though the Tahoe Hybrid is MUCH heavier (by 2300lbs!).
• The Tahoe Hybrid has more passenger and cargo volume than any other hybrid currently in stock.
• The Tahoe Hybrid has towing capability.
• The Tahoe Hybrid has a powerful engine for merging onto the freeway especially with some of the SHORT or UPHILL freeway onramps here in L.A.
• The Tahoe Hybrid has the same MPG as a Prius when in "EV" mode and will stay in "EV" mode longer than a Prius (I actually own a 2008 Prius and it is not easy to keep it in "EV" mode.)
  
• Even the base Tahoe Hybrid is luxuriously equipped.
• The Tahoe Hybrid along with most Chevy vehicles equipped with the Driver Information Center is more advanced than anything a Prius or Civic Hybrid has to offer, ie. accurate tire pressure monitor, customize how and when your vehicle autolocks the doors, accurate oil life monitor, etc.
  
• The Tahoe Hybrid comes with Onstar which has many features such as live vehicle diagnostics, air bag deployment notification, gps location if vehicle is stolen, maintenance notification, remote unlocking if you lock your keys in your vehicle, etc.
• The Tahoe Hybrid comes with a better warranty than a Prius.

Of course I am the first to admit that the Tahoe Hybrid costs about twice as much as a Toyota Prius, but for those who really need the extra capabilities this vehicle has to offer, the choice becomes clear. Also, as I mentioned before I own a 2008 Toyota Prius, and I do think they are great hybrids as well!

In any case, it was such a pleasure talking with all the people that came to this Rideshare Fair. I also went around the booths and was interested in the Metrolink option in case I moved further away! There were many prizes as well and there was FREE popcorn to boot! Now if only they had some other food stand such as a hot dog stand, then I would have not been as hungry towards the end! Enjoy the pictures below!

2008 Tahoe Hybrid has Just Arrived!

The NEW 2008 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid has just arrived at our dealership! We have a FULLY LOADED white one in stock at only MSRP for Internet Customers ONLY! AGAIN, this vehicle is not your base no-frills model, it is FULLY LOADED with Leather, Rear Seat Entertainment System, Navigation, Bose, Rear View Camera, Sunroof, and MUCH MORE!

The Tahoe Hybrid is also the fastest Tahoe yet, so you don't have to worry about having little power just because you own a hybrid. You simply cannot say the same for hybrids such as the Civic Hybrid and Toyota Prius.

I myself own a Toyota Prius but compared to the features in the Tahoe Hybrid, the Prius seems like an economy, no frills model. For example, you won't find a Prius with Onstar which notifies the proper authorities if the vehicle crashes and the air bags deploy. You won't find a tire pressure monitor that accurately displays the tire pressure for each individual tire down to 1 psi accuracy (This feature is standard on most Chevy vehicles!). You won't find customizable options such as setting all the doors to lock when the car is turned on. You won't have to worry about being mistaken for Captain Picard in a Type-6 shuttlecraft (Heheh, I love Star Trek!) because the Tahoe Hybrid looks just like a regular Hybrid. And there's MORE!

Granted, a Prius will blow away a Tahoe Hybrid in MPG but that's like comparing apples to oranges. The Prius with its smaller engine and much lighter weight better have WAY better MPG than the Tahoe Hybrid! Of course when it comes to crawling on electric power only, MPG on both are the same since the engine is shut off!

The main idea with this Tahoe Hybrid is that it has all the capabilities of a full-sized SUV, you've got power, you can tow, you can travel in comfort and style, etc., you are not limited just because you drive a hybrid. Plus you will save more on gas compared to a regular Tahoe.

What you can do with a Corvette!?

If you have some extra cash lying around why not get a unique car that hardly anyone else owns? Check out this custom car made from a C6 Corvette chassis! Great for those who love the classic looks as this car has elements of a '57 - '59 Chevy. I personally am not a big fan of "classic" vehicles, but one look at this really impressed me! It was built by N2A Motors (No Two Alike) and cost $40,000 over the cost of the donor vehicle, in this case the MSRP of the C6 Corvette was $44,000. So if you have around $84,000 lying around and are looking for a cool 2 seater sports car that has style, this may be up your alley! It may not be as aerodynamic as a stock Corvette, but it's guaranteed to turn heads, that's for sure!

Malibu Wins Car of the Year!

Wow what a surprise! The ALL NEW Chevy Malibu has won the North American Car of the Year Award! According to the article, the Car and Truck of the Year is chosen by a jury of 47 automotive journalists from the US and Canada. Check out this exerpt:

"The mid-size sedan has been well-reviewed by the media, including CNNMoney.com. The Malibu's interior has a twin-cockpit design that mimics classic Chevrolet Corvettes. Its exterior shape, with smooth sides, wide rear window pillars and side turn signals, is intended to resemble European luxury sedans."
